Three Trees Wee Memories Card

Hello!  I hope your having a great weekend!  It's been a busy but great week!  We had an election this past Wednesday here in my city and I worked at one of the polls!  From 7 am till 8:30 pm!  13 1/2 hours!  It actually wasn't too bad and the day really flew by! A friend took Ariel for the day to play with her daughter the same age and my husband was able to stay at home with Carter.  My mother or mother-in-law would have taken care of Carter but they worked the election too!  When I called and got the job I called them and told them about it!  Oh and two of my other friends!  The lady who hired me and my mother and mother-in-law must have liked us because she gave us all the same job, the easiest job there, and we all trained together! I am glad I did it, it's a great way to make some extra money right before Christmas!  Currently as I write this post we are having our first snow fall!  Although it is melting as it hits the ground!

Today I have another great Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge!  Our sponsor is Simon Says Stamps!

This week our challenge is simple!  Free your Creativity!  How great is that?  So easy to join us that you have no excuse!  :>

I made a Christmas card for this challenge!  I love to sing and love this musical background stamp by Hero Arts (I feel that when I use it's so me)

I stamped the musical background with vintage photo distress ink and distressed the edges.  I wanted the feel of a sheet of treasured music that is starting to age.  I stamped the tress by HA with the vintage photo and colored them with some memento inks.  I finished it with a red bow and some pearls and rhinestones to decorate the trees!

I hope you join us this week at Wee Memories and play! :>

baby boy airplanes in the sky

Hi all!  Hope your having a splendid day!  It's deary and wet over here! It's been raining for 2 days!  But I have no where to go today and am enjoying a relaxing day here with Carter as Ariel is in school.   We actually have had a really nice fall here this year.  I finally understand why for some fall is a favorite time of year!  The weather was sunny and warmer than usual so we were able to spend a lot of time outside!  Usually in the fall I feel that it's so dreary with rain or no sun days!  The fall we had this year makes me actually like fall instead of dread it!  Although with Ariel in school I think I may always dread the end of summer!  Fall may be over here soon as they are calling for snow tomorrow!

Today I have two similar baby boy cards!  I am still at work at baby cards, and lately it's been boy.  I wonder what this says about what my friends are expecting?  Oh well I find baby boy cards way harder!

I am not sure which one I prefer but it didn't photograph as well as I hoped either!  Fist I stamped the airplanes in the middle first in aqua cleaned my stamp and did the airplanes around it in brown fitting it as low and close to the other row of airplanes as I could, than I finished with the blue1  It was fun! All the stamps are PTI and I cut the brown ric rack with my PTI die! I thought the sentiment worked well with the airplanes!

Well I am off to make Cranberry Pumpkin muffins with Carter!  Perfect for this kind of day!

We have a fun challenge of Cute Holiday!  Here is my card, love this image!

I colored in the Pure Innocence Image with my prisma and derwent pencils and added a embossed and sanded coredinations cardstock behind it!

I also made another card for the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  I got really inky with this one:

I played with silver embossing and tumbled glass and broken china distress inks!

sweet as can be baby boy

Hello!  Happy Friday!  My friends I am so sorry for my blogging absence lately!  What a weekend into the week I had!  Chad was gone last weekend for 4 days on a guys trip.  I am happy for him to go and spend some time relaxing, male bonding and seeing his favorite team the Vikings beat his friends favorite team the Cowboys!  What a game!  Glad it was a good game too!  I normally enjoy having the kids all to myself BUT Carter was off!  I think he may have been teething and it was the worst ever!  It's one thing when they are in pain it's another when they are in pain and are so grumpy and irritable!  And crying a lot at night!  I was so tired!  And he seemed off all the way to Wednesday!  I did get some crafting done!  A few baby cards!  I am so happy to be on the boy theme as for me it's the hardest.  This one is simple but I love the colors to this patterned paper by Cosmo Cricket!  It's from the Pixie-Licious line but I think this pp is perfect for a baby boy card!

I am quite enjoying making baby cards, I feel like I am in the groove for it!  :>  I'll be back early tomorrow with the new Wee Memories challenge!

Saturday is here!

Hello!  Happy Saturday!  I am sorry I didn't blog all that much this week.   Not much went on over here with crafting!  Just wasn't in the mood and was busy.  Plus it was a shorter week with Thanksgiving last weekend!  Something about those short weeks that really throw you off!  It's good to take a break!  My husband Chad is gone on a guys sports trip so it's me and the kids for a few days!

I am here with another Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday challenge!  We have a fantastic sponsor this week, Scor-Pal!  And what a great prize, a Scor-Buddy!

Our challenge theme this week is Celebrations!  It's in honor of Jenny's wedding and her one week anniversary!  It's a great theme as it's so easy to play with celebrations being anything from wedding, birthdays, holiday or anything you celebrate!  I already shared my wedding card I made for Jenny and Jason here. So I went with two baby cards as that is what I am currently celebrating A LOT!  Last week I brought dinner to our friends who just had a baby boy and I didn't have a card to go with my gift!  How bad of me is that?  I was so mad at myself!  So many friends and family expecting babies so I figured I need to plan ahead!  I made two cards same style but one for a girl and one for a boy:

I like the idea of making two of the same cards for different genders, more to have on hand!  My mother in law always asks for baby cards!   I made the boy one first than changed the buttons on the girl one, I prefer the way I did the buttons on the girl one!  I went with a soft lacey baby card.  Sometimes I like to leave the buttons bare with no thread, depends on my mood.  Or do you think buttons should always have thread and or twine?

I hope you join us this week at Wee Memories, make sure to check it and see my talented DT sisters fabulous creations!

Jenny and Jason's Wedding Card!

Hello all!  Today 10 10 10 is my wonderful blog friend Jenny's wedding day!  You know who Jenny is from Wee Memories!   Not only is today a very special day for Jenny since she is getting married but she is also a guest blogger on Two Peas!  Go and check it out here (well after seeing my card of course!) A bunch of ladies from the Hero Arts flickr group organized a wedding card "drive" for her!  I had been planning on making Jenny a wedding card anyways so it worked out so well!  Luckily with how busy this weekend has been with Thanksgiving I got inspired on my way home from church and quickly whipped up this card!  It's great how things come together when you have it planned out in your head!  Here is my card:

It went with a blue, brown and Ivory color scheme since it seemed perfect for a wedding! I stamped the HA florish background in Tumbled Glass Distress Ink by Tim Holtz onto the Ivory cardstock.  The flower was an extra that came in my HA Color your world class I took at Scrapfest, it was embossed onto water color paper and now I want some watercolor paper!

Jenny and Jason I hope today has been a special day!  Marriage is the best life!  Having someone to share your days with and being your partner is the best!  Hope you have a great honeymoon!

Time for another Scrappy Saturday Challenge!

Yay it's Saturday again!  And it's even better as here in Canada it's a long weekend as we are celebrating Thanksgiving!  It's a little odd though my friends as the weather is so unusually hot over here, it's like summer!  Seems werid sitting down for turkey when we are wearing shorts!  It will be great to celebrate and give thanks with our families!  And this hot weather makes it even better!

Today we start another Scrappy Saturday Wee Memories Challenge!  This week our sponsor is fantastic, Mod Podge!  Who doesn't love that stuff?  So useful for so many things!  Our challenge is Halloween!

Here is my card:

This is my first ever Halloween card!  I used a card that I made at Scrapfest at the Making Memories booth and made it my own.  While in line and talking to strangers a lot of people shared that they broke apart some of the cards and such that they made and made something else, made it there own!  While coming up with an idea for a Halloween card I remembered that and went for it!

I hope that you can play with us this week at Wee Memories!  The prize is a Mod Podge Starter kit!  You have until Friday October 15th 11:59 pm EST to play!

Baby Challenge Card

Hello!  Happy Thursday!  What a day! Had a great day with the kids!  Woke up to a friend calling asking if I wanted to do something today so quickly got ready and headed out!  Took the kids to another drop in play group and than out for lunch!  Had a lot of fun!  The day got even busier when I found out that I had to work tonight! Oh well the to do list for tomorrow just got longer!

Today Charlene and I challenged each other to make a baby card.  Currently I am in such need of baby cards!  There are a lot of babies being born or on there way over here!  I only seem to be able to make cute girl cards though:

I bought the flower ribbon at my fabric store months ago for so cheap.  I had no idea what to do with it!  While standing in line at Scrapfest looking at this it came to me:

Do you see what inspired me?  Right in line I told my friend Sophie of my card idea, I had the whole thing laid out in my head!  So glad to finally use that ribbon!

Don't forget to check out Charlene's card here.

Well I better go to bed!  Tomorrow is my last challenge card pairing with Charlene.  I just need to make it...

Fall Pairing Challenge Card!

Happy Wednesday!  Hope your day has been good!  Today I took my kids to stay and play at our church.  My kids love it as it's a multi purpose room filled with lots of room to run and toys and bouncers to jump in!  Such great new toys they have!  I love it because I know or get to know everyone there, it's a great way to get out, and free starbucks coffee!  And it's cool how Ariel loves it when I volunteer there, she always get so excited to help clean up!  The weather is so nice outside that you don't need a jacket so afterwards 2 girl friends and I let our kids run around on the lawn while we sat and chatted!  The afternoon ended nicely with naps by everyone!  It was nice to relax and have a quiet house!  We just finished supper here I made Chicken Cacciatore and it was pretty good, super easy if your interested in the recipe you can get it here.

Today I have another challenge card to share!  Charlene and I challenged each other to make a fall card!  Here is mine:

I needed to make my brother in law a birthday card and just wasn't feeling inspired!  Than I saw this die cut already stamped from Scrapfest!  One of the lovely ladies gave me an extra die cut all stamped!  I had completely forgotten! Of course I was excited as I don't have that die, nor the stamp set.  Although I did win the stamp set last week from the lovely Lin!!!  Once I found this I was inspired!  I stamped the happy birthday on it.  I did one of my favorite techniques for it with my new quickuts embossing folder.  I had seen this folder used by Ayana on her blog and wanted it for this technique and was so pleased that she told me what it was!  I was so happy when I found the folder at Archiver's when I went to Scrapfest!  I embossed the kraft than stamped the friends def on top with my fiskars stamp press!  Added some buttons and voila!

Please make sure to check out Charlene's card here too!

I hope your having a great week and I will be back tomorrow with another challenge card!

Anniversary Challenge!

Hello everyone!  What a day I have had!  This morning I cleaned up the house, started dinner, baked a banana and chocolate cake and did some laundry. Than I went downtown for training as I am working the election!  Came home, rushed finishing supper and brought it to our close friends and had supper with them.  They just had a baby!  It was nice to spend the evening with them and cuddle a little newborn baby!  I also did some grocery shopping!  What a busy day!  I am looking forward to going to bed earlier tonight!

Today I have another challenge card from my pairing challenge that Charlene and I are doing!  We challenged each other to make anniversary cards!  Here is mine:

I am loving my new poppy stamp set!  I stamped the poppies first and colored them with the barn door distress ink, than sprayed with perfect pearls and water!  I stamped the flourish background with photo distress ink and the edges.  Stamped the poppies on top colored the stems and cut out the colored poppies and attached them and added black pearls I colored with a sharpie!

Please make sure to check out Charlene's card too here

Well I am going to run and watch some tv, Glee here I come!  Sigh my PVR is too full of good shows!  :>

Pairing Challenge Girl Card!

Hello everyone!  I hope you had a great weekend!  I had a busier one!  Last night we got together with my family to celebrate my father's birthday.  My mom wowed us with a turkey dinner, but what really got me was her torte!  It was banana cake layers (4) with whipping cream strawberries and mango!  YUM!

Today I am here with a pairing challenge card!  On the Hero Arts Flickr group the wonderful Joy organized a pairs challenge.  I was paired with Charlene and we have come up with a week of challenges to share!  Looking through our flickr photostreams we discovered that we both have Hero Arts girl stamps so our first challenge was to make a card with that!  Here is mine:

I don't know if you can tell but I stamped the girls clothes on some fabric and jeans!  So she has real clothes!  So fun to do that!  I can always use a girl card, I like to be ready ahead of time for birthday parties for Ariel's friends!

Please make sure to see the beautiful card that Charlene has made, you can go to her flickr photostream by clicking HERE.   I hope that you enjoy this week!  I love the cards I have made and can't wait to share them with you!  It's so fun to see what two people come up with the same stamps or theme!

Before I go I have a sweet photo of Carter last night to share with you:

When it was bed time he put his favorite ball in his crib!  I took it out because I thought he would just throw it around but boy did he ever cry and call for his beloved ball!  I finally gave in and gave it back to him and he didn't throw it, instead he laid down with it to cuddle it as he fell asleep!  Later I went to check on him and this is how I found him sleeping!  So sweet!  Today he was walking around the house kissing that ball!  Someone loves balls and sports!

Happy World Card Making Day!

Hello!  Today is a special day indeed as it's World Card Making Day!  Yay!  It's been a quiet day over here and I am working on some cards!  Hero Arts is having a wonderful contest of making a card with your favorite colors! I am excited about this challenge as I have a lot of favorite colors, or favorite colors to use together.  I am more of a favorite colors to use together.  I love kraft, red and brown together.  I also love pink, brown and orange.  Another favorite is aqua blue with anything....

Over on the Hero Arts Flickr group a few of us thought it would be fun to have a hop showing your first card and a current card!  So I went hunting through my computer to find one of my first cards.  Just like you (probably) I didn't take a picture of my first card I ever made but this one is one of the first I did take a picture of!  It's a card I remember making and loving.  It was one of the thank you cards I made after Carter was born!  I think I gave this to my OBGYN!

And here is the first card I ever uploaded to the Hero Arts Flickr group!

And here is a new card!  I am also going to enter this into the Stamping Month at Two Peas challenge which is to use that stamp or supply you've been itching to use!
For me it's the musical background stamp, so happy that I got it!  I love it because I love to sing!

I inked the nestie with wild honey ink than stamped the poppies on it, masking one of the poppies and hand drawing the rest of the stems.  Than I colored the poppies with my prisma pencil, than I did a technique I that one of the HA ladies told me about at Scrapfest.  I painted with water and perfect pearls and a brush over the poppies and let it dry.  It's my first time trying it, it looks a bit messy but kinda cool too! So much shine!  I stamped the musical background with vintage photo ink and distressed the edges! I also colored some pearls with a black sharpie and added them to the middle!

I hope you are having a great World Card making day!  I am so thankful for this hobby!  And I am so thankful for all the friends I have made online through this hobby!  :>

Another Scrappy Saturday Challenge!

Happy Saturday!  Today is a great day because not only do we have another Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge but it is also World Card Making Day!  I hope to get some crafting in today!  No plans for the day but a party for my brother in law tonight.  I do still have to make him a card!  :>

This week our Sponsor is the Prickley Pear and what a fun challenge we have also!

I love the name of this challenge!  What a fun different challenge!  I had to pull out this stamp set to create my card:

I think this set is my favorite PTI set!  I stamped the polka dots on the bottom with razzellberry pigment ink by Colorbox (love how it pops on the kraft!) and stamped the stem in a small doily by Martha Stewart.  Curving the sentiment finished it perfectly! A very simple card but adding anything seemed to ruin it so I went with it!

I hope that you can play with us this week at Wee Memories!  I can't wait to see your creation!  You have until Friday October 7th at 11:59 PST to play!
