Insiped by Pinterest

Hello and a Happy Saturday to you!  I hope that you are having a great weekend so far!  Last Saturday I shared about how I woke up to find my daughter cutting up my cardstock and wanting to keep it all, well yesterday I woke up to her quite upset she had accidentally pulled down my standing drawer bin that's full of my crafty items!  A lot of my papers and random crafty items were all over the floor! She was scared that I was upset but really I don't want her to get hurt!  She was in the drawers digging and later asking me if she could have this?  She is going through my stash my friends!  Luckily I do have a lot of things that I don't use anymore.

I am here a bit late with my Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday post.  We had a garage sale today and we have been so busy getting ready for it.  I am so glad that it's over!  We did better than we thought so that is really nice!  This week our sponsor is May Arts!  I love May Arts ribbon as I am sure many of you do too!  >

Our challenge this week is Etsy or Pinterest Inspired!  I don't have a Pinterest account but I went to look on there and found an inspirational photo.  I've really been feeling at a loss for crafting lately and my mojo just hasn't been there.  But when I found this photo that I really liked it all just came together.  I was inspired, I wanted to create and my idea came so quick!  Here is what got me back:

I love the colors, I love the cleanness and I was inspired to make this:

I used all the colors but left out the beige!  I stamped the stem and the flower with pigment inks and than clear embossed them and put a doily behind it.  Added some green ruffled ribbon as "grass" it was harder to ruffle it with a thinner ribbon I found!  After no mojo lately I am really pleased with this card.  And now understanding why everyone loves Pinterst so much!

I really hope you will join us this week and play!  Our Top Hoot will win a May Arts prize pack!  And to make it even more fun for you a random winner wins a Wee Memories prize!  Please check out the Wee Memories blog for more info and to see the talented Design Team's creations!

CAS Blast Off and Project 365 Week 8!

Hello!  Today I have a fun CAS card that I made using the Blast Off set from Market Street Stamps.  I had this idea the other day and so enjoyed stamping it!

After taking this photo I had some fun idea's of other ways to take the photo of such a boy card:

Hmmmm this card reminds me how much I love CAS.  I've never been a huge person on using white when I do CAS but I may be now!  I stamped the bottom row of stars first using a scratch piece of paper along the bottom to be my line.  Than I used those stars to stamp the next.  It wasn't perfect and as I did it I considered restarting BUT I decided not to be so anal, I am not entering it into anything and it is for a kid!

Last week it was amazing weather here!  From Monday through Friday it was HOT like summer!  Monday and Tuesday night after supper we walked to park and enjoyed the weather and playing in the park!  Wednesday we went to stay and play than lunch at McD's with friends, park on the way home.  Than a nap for Carter and we drove to a big park nearby.  Chad was working all day and evening that day so it was me and the kids.  First we stopped in on the duck pond.  Ariel loves all the ducks and Carter usually does too but maybe it was because there were so many near him but he kept pointing behind him and telling me to go there!  I took a bunch of photos:

Wouldn't the close up one of Ariel on the swing be so great to scrapbook???  :>

On Thursday it was Ariel's classes first time doing chapel at school!  Every Thursday there school has chapel.  It was so sweet the see the kids leading in praise and worship, saying bible verses, reciting poems.  They did it with one of the grade 1 classes and that class did a bunch of stuff too, including a skit!  And older grade 6 boys do the sound!  Running the microphones and the sound board, so cool!  Here is some photos of Ariel:

Friday night we all went to Chad's baseball game!  I totally forgot my camera at home!  Carter had such a blast sitting in the dug out with all the men!  I brought along his lawnmower and he ran all over the place with it!  The park the game was in is actually a dog park so Ariel loved seeing all the dogs.  We had a bit of a panic attack when we couldn't find Ariel and another little girl. They had both asked us if they could go for a walk with a teammates wife and her dogs and we said yes but they were gone for so long and we couldn't see them!  We worried they wandered off, we didn't think the walk would be that far!  I knew that they were with adults but the other mom thought that they were with some younger girls.  It was a big misunderstanding but thankfully it all worked out!  Other than that it was a really good night.

Saturday it rained all day so Ariel and I went shopping at a mall across the city.  My mom works as a taylor in one of the dept stores there so Ariel enjoyed hanging out in the Alteration shop with her and my mom enjoyed showing Ariel off to all her coworkers!  :>  It's funny how much I hear from "strangers" that Ariel looks just like me! I think she is way prettier than I was at that age!

Sunday we went to church and Chad showed houses and we enjoyed time at home.  Or course we hit the park that night!  Since Monday was a holiday here as it was a long weekend I will include it in this post.  It was cooler but we wanted to check out a new park in our city.  It's called the Children's Garden and is a nature park.  It was sooo cool!  So full of people too!  I can't wait until it warms up again (yes it's sooo cool now here!)  to go back.  I took a bunch of photos to share:

The view on our way in:

They had all these cool plant animals all dressed up, here are our favorites:

They had this cool high up slide on a hill:

They had the coolest swings, they were big and like a disk, as you can see Ariel loved it:

Another view tons of tulips everywhere!

Another plant animal:

Daddy and Carter!

And that is my week!  If you've made it to here, good for you!  If you didn't I so understand!

Blast Off!!!!

Hello Happy Saturday!  I hope your having a great start to your weekend!  A better one than me.  My daughter got into my cardstock.  I guess I accidentally left some of it on her craft table!  Oh my!  She is crying since I took it away, but I can't let her have my PTI and Bazill cardstock!  I did let her keep what she cut up, and she did cut up more than I would like!

Today I am here with a new Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge!  We have a great sponsor this week, Market Street Stamps!  Market Street Stamps have such cute stamps and I really enjoyed playing with this rocket from Blast Off! They stamp so well too!

Our challenge this week is Stamp It!  I love stamping and I know so many of you do too so what an easy challenge!!!

I colored the rocket with my derwent pencils and mounted it on some starry paper that I had in my stash.  Finished with some twine from the Twinery.  I also added some glossy accents to the window!  My daughter just told me that "you can add a happy face inside the window mommy!" I liked stamping the sentiment on it's side.  Making boy cards isn't always easy for me but this rocket makes it super easy!

We've had a rainy start to our long weekend over here.  Apparently it's rained here every Victoria long weekend for the past 6 years!  Yesh after such a hot week I guess we can't complain but it's too bad it worked out that way!  We had a great time at the softball game last night.  The kids love playing outside with other kids and I enjoy chatting with the wives!

I hope that you will join us this week for our Stamp It challenge!  Please check out the Wee Memories blog for more details and to see all my fellow DT's always amazing work!

Red and Aqua

Hello!  Happy Friday!  It's a long weekend over here so it's even more exciting!  The weather here this week has been absolutely fantastic!  Just like summer!  We have been enjoying the park everyday and playing outside!  I am sure you can imagine how happy I am!  The heat and no bugs yet!  Well sorta but not really bad bug season yet!  I don't know if you've noticed but I lost my mojo!  I only made 2 cards this week and yesterday was the first one and today one!  It was a nice little break but I also really missed being creative.  :>

When I saw this patterned paper I thought it would be fun to emboss with the aqua powder on it!  Not sure if I actually like how it turned out though:

It's really hard to get a good picture of it!  :>  I had the hardest time deciding what color of base to go with, in the end kraft seemed to look best.

Well I am off! About to eat supper and than going to my husband's softball game!  :>  I will be back tomorrow with a new Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday challenge!  :>

Project 365 Week 7!

Hello!  It's me here late with my project 365 for last week!  I am sorry for my absence, the weather has been just glorious!  Today was as hot as a summer's day!  I've been busy with the kids outside and it has resulted in a very tired me!  I also just don't have any mojo right now, probably because I am so tired at the end of the night!

Monday and Tuesday we stayed home and did things around the house.  Wednesday we went to stay and play and had a great time.  Afterward we went to my parents place and had lunch with my mom!

Thursday was a busy day we started at a different play group that we go to occasionally.  We met up with A one of Ariel's classmates her two siblings and her mom.  I have been getting to know J for a bit and really enjoy spending time with her, I am so sad that they are moving away this summer!  :<  Than we went out for lunch.  On my way home I decided to stop in my LSS but on the way realized I was passing by another friends house so we stopped in and visited for a while!  Don't worry I did stop in my LSS!  Here's some cute photos from the playgroup:

On Tuesday Ariel was leader of the day at school.  Which means that she had to bring snack so I made apple stresuel muffins for her class.  She also has to bring items that start with the letter of the day, her's was X so all we had was a xylophone!  And when she came home she brought the Sunshine and Kindness bag.  It had books and instructions to spread God's love and kindness to someone and write and draw a picture of it in the book afterward.  Ariel decided that she wanted to give her ballet teacher that night some flowers to spread kindness.  It was so sweet, her teacher LOVED it!  Although Ariel was a bit shy and spoke so quietly I could barely hear her!

On Friday Ariel woke up really early with a sore tummy and had thrown up.  She had just been sick the week before for a few days so it was a bit alarming!  She lay around all day with a sore tummy but didn't get sick again, and no one else here either!  And she was fine by Saturday!

Saturday was a nice day, quite windy but at least sunny after a week of dreary and cool weather.  We decided to go to the Forks for dinner.  It's a marketplace where the two rivers meet in our city.  It's nice to go around and walk and lots of eclectic shops.  We really enjoyed dinner at the Spaghetti Factory:

 BOYS!!!!

Sunday was a busy day.  We enjoyed church!  Than I took Ariel for her swimming lesson than to a princess party.  She was sooo tired when Chad dropped her off!  I saw a picture the dad took of all the princesses and Ariel was seriously frowning!  LOL!  Thankfully they said she perked up pretty quick and had a great time!  That night we had dinner at my parents and I enjoyed hearing my brother's wedding plans!

Well I better run!  I hope you have a great week.  And I hope to be back with a card soon!

Two Sticky Cards

Hello!  Happy Saturday!  I am here with a new Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge!    I was very happy when I woke up this morning to sunshine!  This week it's been so bleary and gloomy with rainy like weather everyday!  Yay sunshine!  Fun outside here we come!  I am also happy to report that Ariel seems to be doing much better and no one has joined her with the stomach flu she had yesterday.  Here's hoping it stays that way!

I am very excited about our sponsor this week, SRM Stickers!  I know you've heard of them they are all over the place! They were so generous to us DT and provided us with some really great stickers to work with!  I loved playing with them, they are so easy to use!  Our challenge this week is very fitting it's "Get Sticky" play with stickers or rub ons!    I actually made two cards:

This sentiment was actually a full line but I cut it up and used it like this instead, super easy to do!  I used a paper from my Hello Luscious pack, one that I actually didn't really like but now love.  I like this color combo it includes my favorite color pink, the yellow is so different for me!  I embossed the flower in chestnut and finished the card with some ruffled ribbon!

My next card I used the CPS sketch this week, I love the sketch and it may be the first time I've played with them.  I am also entering it into the Lily Pad's challenge of embossing, I love embossing so I will probably enter a lot.  I am actually not sure if I can combine challenges so if I can't please let me know.

I love this sentiment!  It's perfect so many different things and I am going to be happy to have this on hand!  I stamped the branch with moss green pigment ink and than clear embossed on top.  Than I stamped in white the old letter writing (because if I did it first I would have had to wait a while for it to dry so I wouldn't get embossing powder on the white ink too)  Added some buttons and there you go!

I hope that you will join us with this fun challenge this week!  Our Top Hoot will win a SRM Sticker gift certificate, and our random winner will receive a Wee Memories Prize Pack!  Please check out the Wee Memories Blog for more details and to see the other wonderful creations from my fellow DT girls!  Our challenge runs until Friday May 20, 11:59PST.

Rocketship blast off!

Hello!  I am sure many of you like me are happy that blogger is back up and running!  I had a busy week with completing some assignments for my course and when I could finally play and post blogger was down!  Oh well I went shopping online and in store instead!  Went for myself but came home with only things for the kids.  I can't resist a good sale and cute clothes!

Today I have a cute card I made for the current Market Street Stamps Color Cue challenge!  Here are the colors:

At first glance I didn't think the colors were the easiest to use but after thinking for a bit I came up with something!  Here is my card using the set Blast Off:

I stamped the stars with versamark and embossed them with sparkly powder.  I colored the rocket with pencils and added some glossy accents to the window to give it sheen!  :>  I finished it with tieing some yellow twine around the base!

Sadly Ariel woke up in the middle of the night and threw up so she is home sick from school today.  She was just sick last week!  I guess the tummy bug can come at any time!  And I know that a friend after stay and play on Wednesday went home and her little boy was sick with the tummy bug all day! She hasn't thrown up since but is sitting on the couch with a sore tummy right now.  And I am not feeling all that well either!  In fact I better go and lay down!  Catch you later!
