Is it me?

Hello Crafty Friends!  Hope your enjoying this Easter weekend!  I wanted to stop and share a card I made this morning!  Anytime I see the Hello bubble stamp by Hero arts I sing this song in my head.  Than I had the idea to pair it with the Conversation background, and thought it would be fun to enter into Moxie Fab's The Speech Bubble Challenge! Singing it in my head and giggling the whole time I made this card:

Edited to add:  to the anonymous person who left me a comment, of the word is you're.  I fixed it!  :>

Do you know what song it is?  It's Lionel Ritchie's Hello you can see the video here.  I just couldn't help but make a card off the lyric!  :>  I so enjoyed it!  I also enjoyed watching the video as I had never seen it before, so sweet!  I stamped the conversation background in HA's wet cement ink, than using HA's typewritter letters I made up each word and stamped them with HA's tide pool, butterball, splash, orange soda and memento's grape jelly and the hello with HA's bubble gum pink!  When I showed Chad my card me laughed so I hope it brings joy to you too!

I am also entering this card into Simon Says Anything Goes challenge!  :>

We have been enjoying our Easter weekend!  Good Friday is a holiday here (as is Easter) so we celebrated with Chad's whole family and had an egg hunt, we had a great time!  Today we are laying low and tomorrow we have church and visit my family!  Happy Easter everyone!

Oh So Pretty!

Hello my Crafty Friends!  I wanted to pop in and blog as it's been a few days!  We are in the midst of spring break and enjoying every moment!  Today as you read this I am sitting with Chad at a real estate course, a mandatory one!  The kids had a sleepover with there grandparents and a few cousins!  Today I have a pretty card to share:

I used two stamp sets by WPlus9 Design Studio:  Embroidered Bouquet, Written on Ribbon.  I heat embossed the ribbon with gold embossing powder.  As you may see if you look closely some of the powder strayed a bit and left a few flecks.  This tends to happen when the embossing powder gets old.  On another card I figured out that if you heat emboss from underneath the paper the powder does not fleck off!  Good news you can still use that old embossing powder, yay!  :>  I used a doily sent to me by my friend Miriam!  And stamped some flowers along the bottom and top!

I am also entering this card into this weeks Simon Says Stamp Challenge of Anything Goes!

We have been having a fun spring break!  On Monday we went to the Children's Museum, Tuesday we all went to see the Croods (great movie) and Wednesday we went to play date with a bunch of friends (original mommies group when we sat and nursed and chat back when we were all first time moms, you know when we could actually get a whole conversation out, now it's so loud!) Loving this week with my kids the snow is slowly melting and it's so sunny so we have high hopes Spring is on it's way!

Well that's it for me!  Until we meet again!

I Quite Like Your Smile!

Hello Crafty Friends!  Spring Break is here!  Yipee!  Starting it out with a lazy Saturday, much appreciated! I've been working on wreath orders but I took a break as I had an idea, I wanted to play along with the Monday Mood Board at WPlus9 Design Studio!  I don't have any bunny stamps but I loved the colors and wanted to play with my set Embroidered Bouquet again, but with the individual stamps this time!

And the Monday Mood Board Photo:

I stamped the different flowers and leaves with Hero Arts Butter Ball, Mementos:  Pear Tart and Sweet Plum.  I decided where I wanted the sentiment from WPlus9 Design Studio's Quite Like You than lightly with a pencil I drew two lines and stamped and stamped the flowers, than I erased the lines carefully.  I also angled the paper so that I stamped straight not sideways (much easier)  I don't usually like to draw on a card with a pencil but for this design I really felt like I needed it!  Thankfully it erased well and didn't smudge!

Yesterday I spent the day volunteering at Ariel's school.  She had a garage sale in the morning, grades 1 to 3 have a garage sale with everything being a quarter and under to practice the use of money!  That was all morning than I volunteered with hot lunch and than shakers and movers (set up sanctuary since it's a gym during the week)  It was a lot of fun but boy was I beat!  For Ariel to sell I made a bunch of marshmallow pops:

And I pulled out the cute stamps to make mini coloring books:

They were a hit and she sold out early on!  Which is great as I may have stayed up till midnight working on all of these!  :>

Thanks for stopping by!

Emboirdered Bouquet!

Hello Crafty Friends!  It's a beautiful spring sunny day with cold weather and so much snow!  May be a while till we see grass over here!  :>  Both kids were in school today and Chad and I enjoyed a day together, working but also a lunch date!

Today I am popping in with a card I made for the WPlus9 Design Studio Monday Mood Board!  I saw the image and was quickly inspired to make this card.  I love it when that happens!

And this is the photo that inspired me:

I looked at the photo for a bit and was inspired and made my card,  Now when  downloading the photo I realize hey.....is that more of a lavender than a pink?  Oh well I do see pink eggs too!  The bows around the necks of the cookie bunnies inspired me to tie the bow on the card!  I used the WPlus9 Design Studio Stamp set Embroidered Bouquet!  Love that set!

Only one more day of school before Spring Break is here!  I am so excited to have a week and a half (because of Easter they don't go back till Tuesday April 2) Lots of fun activities planned! Hopefully more springlike weather will come our way too!

Baby Girl card and Gift!

Hello my Crafty Friends!  It's a snow day over here!  Yes on March 18th it's a snow day!  Hopefully it's the last one for this winter!  Just a few years ago it did snow on May 1st!  Than it melted on May 2nd but still!  Lots of schools closed but of course not my kids (it never is but they have called parents before to come get there kids early) but we just kept Ariel home, it's still snowing and it's quite windy so it's only going to get worse!  Doesn't stop us realtors as Chad has braved the weather to show a house! I am sure he is enjoying that drive!  LOL  I think it's more upsetting to us Winnipeggers as everyone has fond memories of last Spring this same weekend it was warm and a lot pulled out sandals!  I am enjoying my day at home crafting, snuggling with the kiddies and cleaning!  Probably some baking in there too! And reading I am really enjoying reading lately!

Yesterday we went to a shower for Chad's cousin who just had a brand new baby girl!  :>  I thought I would pop in and share the card and gift I made for her! I thought I did have a baby girl card, but I didn't so I quickly whipped up this card:

I used patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye Memorable-Collectable paper.  I die cut in light baby pink the floral lace die by Hero Arts, and the stamps are from Taylored Expressions Onsie and Twoosie!

I also made my gift!  I whipped up some baby headbands in various sizes!  They really are so fun to make and she loved them!  :> I recently bought online some colored elastic and will soon add some of these new styles to my shop!

Aren't they so cute it makes you want a baby girl to dress up?  Me too sadly that reasoning doesn't work with the hubby lol!

That's it from me today! Thank you for stopping by! I am off to enjoy our snow day!  :>

Speech Bubble Hello!

Hello Crafty Friends!  It's Friday once again!  It's been a busy week and this weekend looks to be busy too!  :>  Today I am popping in with a card for Moxie's Fab World's Speech Bubble Challenge!  I was quite excited when I saw this challenge as I have two perfect stamps by Hero Arts for this and had yet to ink them.  You know how it is you have to have them you get them and than have no clue what to do with them!  I was determined that they see ink!

I inked the conversation background stamp by Hero Arts with wet cement ink (by HA) making sure to stamp as well as I could, you know what I mean I used my elbow!  Sometimes I don't stamp that straight onto a card with a background stamp so I cheated I stamped it on cardstock and trimed it and adhered it to the white card.  Stamped the Hello bubble stamp by Hero Arts with Red Royal ink by HA too.  I used patterned paper from My Mind's Eye's Lost and Found 3 Ruby collection.

Happy to share that my speech on Tuesday went well!  I was nervous but I may slightly enjoy public speaking!  I shared about my passion for creativity (at an inner city hs) my journey and how putting yourself out there is scary but you never know unless you do try!  I encouraged them to follow there passion and work at it!  :>  Than over lunch I lead a card class, we did chalkboard cards and they really did love it.  Funny story after they were all done picking out which stamps they wanted to use and embossing I told them the next step  is to smudge this white ink into the card!  They looked at me in horror!  I showed them my card and this is what makes it really look chalkboard!  They thought I was crazy and not one of them did it. :>

This week Ariel is person of the week at school!  Today she shares with the class something about herself so she is leading a craft!  Each child does different things and this is the first time a child has done a craft!  Ariel has two teachers and Mrs B shared with her how she loves art but it's on Wednesdays so she was excited that Ariel was doing a craft on the day she was teaching!  So sweet!  I so wanted to go and watch her speak and do this but I thought it would be best for her to do this herself.  If I was there she may have let me do it but I want her to!  She can be a bit shy and I think this is a good opportunity for her!  I can't wait till she comes home to hear all about it!  This is the craft we came up with, cheap and not too messy but so cute:

That's it for me!  Tonight I am getting my baby headband game on as I have a baby shower this weekend!  :>

Dazzling!

Hello Crafty Friends!  Hope you've had a great weekend!  We did!  We had a time change yesterday which means that the days are longer and more sunlight!  Simply wonderful!  It's the time change that means less sleep and I had a hard time falling asleep last night, but I am not upset as my kids slept in a whole hour!  Oh and extra hour of sleep!  Hopefully this continues!

I am happy to share that on Friday I had two projects picked up for Paper Crafts Holiday Cards and More Volume 7!  And than today I had two cards picked up for Create: Stamping!  Last month I had nothing picked up and was quite disappointed in myself so I worked harder this time!  :>

Also on Friday I was delighted that my card won the CAS-ual Fridays Wall Paper Challenge!  Yay you can see it here.

Today I have a card to share that I made a bit back but it features a whole lotta sequins!

Isn't it Dazzling?  :>  Just having fun with sequins and a sentiment from Hero arts Many Birthday Messages!

Tomorrow I am quite nervous and excited for.  The inner city high school that I teach the creative classes has asked me to speak at there school assembly!  :>  I am sharing about my passion for creativity as there assembly is about creativity!  I don't mind speaking in front of people but it's nerve wrecking! And than I am teaching a card class at lunch time instead of after school!

I am off to prepare for tomorrow!

Your my Favorite!

Hello Crafty Friends!  Happy Thursday!  We are excited over here as tonight we are going to Disney on Ice! The kids are quite excited and it's infectious! :>  Today I have a card to share for the CASual Friday's challenge!  When I saw this week's challenge of stamp your own background I got excited!  I've had this idea for a bit but didn't find time to make it!  I made sure I did for this challenge!

I used Mama Elephant's Smitten set!  I started by heat embossing the feather in gold.  Like many of you I had gold embossing powder that I never touched.  It actually was from a friend who tried paper crafting and it wasn't for her so she gave it to me!  Gold is a big trend right now and I like what it added to my card! I stamped the other feathers with Hero arts's tide pool, bubble gum pink, and orange soda.  Added a sentiment from the set in black and there you go!  :>  For me paper crafting is relaxing and a way to relive stress!  This card did for me, I made it right after putting the kids to bed after a busy day!  :>

Well that's it for me today!  Thank you for visiting! Both kids are in school today and Chad and I are showing houses together this afternoon!  It's nice when it works that we can do it together!

February Publications!

Hello Crafty Friends!  Hope your day has been fabulous!  This morning I taught a card class to a group of moms, enjoyed a lunch date with Chad and we took the kids swimming after school!  I am wiped!  :>

Today I have two cards to share that were published in Create:  Stamping last month (February)!  This is one of my favorite issues and I am so happy to be part of this issue!

Here's how it appears in the issue:

And here is the second card:

I truly love it when Create prints a tip that I gave along with the card when I sent it in and writes Anita says....  I get so excited when I see it!  Since it's hard to see it reads "Anita says "heat embossing (flowers onto patterned paper is a quick way to get lots or color without having to color the images in yourself"  I love it!  :>

Well I am off to put my two to bed, they are quite tired tonight so here's hoping for a very easy bedtime!  :>  I want to sit down and create!
