Mom Thank You!

Hello Happy Saturday!  I am excited to share that my etsy shop Anita Rex Designs has hit 300 sales!  Whooo hoo! I love making the wreaths and am so blessed with the success!  I have a lot of work to do!  The kids have a playdate and Chad is out on appointments so I thought I would take a break of making wreaths and before I make lunch to blog a card!  I used the set Thanks Bunches by Avery Elle that I was lucky to get as a pub incentive!  I got it a bit ago and finally inked it up making another Mother's Day card:

I used Hero Arts Pale Tomato, and Memento's Pear Tart.  Pretty straight forward what I did on this one layer card, added some sequins (yay the orange avery elle ones matched!)  I used a Hero Arts sentiment!

The weather is finally nice enough for the kids to play outside.  It started to get warm than it got freezing cold, than a bit warm, than rain and snow and now we are hopeful!  The kids are having a blast playing outside with the neighbor girl and I can get so much done!  We've already gone to the park a few times!  Once it was so cold and windy but if it's nice we go because tomorrow may not be nice!  :>

That's it from me!  I will be back still have more to share (yay!)  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Butterfly Mom Card!

Hello there!  Thought I would pop by with another Mother's Day card to share!  Yes a second card share from me in a week!  My card class has brought back the love of paper crafting for me!  I think the break did me good, with being so busy with wreaths if I take a break from creating wreaths to make a card I know exactly what I want to make and I create so much faster!  While I did take a break from paper crafting, I didn't take a break from shopping I have a lot of unopened stuff today I am sharing a card  this stamp set by Clearly Besotted Elegant Butterflies.  This is my first set by them, I like it, it's a bigger set for not that much extra.  While you all know how much I love flowers, my first love is butterflies.  I find stamping backgrounds with stamps to be relaxing, to save time I "assigned" each butterfly a clear block and a color so no cleaning and messing up colors:

I used Hero Arts inks:  Mint, Pale Tomato, Peach, and wet cement.  I added the Mom die cut by Simon Says Stamp (doubled the cardstock than die cut kinda hard to get this intricate die cut out, maybe I wish it was thicker font) and anchored it with a velum strip.  A pretty simple card but pretty.

Well it's a rainy gloomy day here!  Chad drove Ariel to school this morning and than realized that she forgot her backpack!  So he came back and is driving it to her, did I mention it's a 20 minute drive one way?  :<  I am off to work on some wreaths!  My shop is even busier this week!  :>

A WaterColour Butterfly Card!

It's me!  Yes me the girl who used to make tons of cards and than disappeared.  Anyone out there?  If anyone still cares...I have been buried under felt, burlap and wreath forms creating wreaths like crazy!  My etsy shop Anita Rex Designs has been doing so well!  I still am so many orders to create March saw my best month yet (Yes March I know who would have thought March?  My Egg Wreath was a HUGE hit!)  But I am currently teaching an intro to Card Making class at Creative Retirement Manitoba!  Last week was my first class of 4 this week's focus is die cutting!  While I was creating cards for the class I took the white fancy butterfly die by Hero Arts and derailed from preparing for the class and started watercolouring for fun the butterfly with the only watercolours I have, Ariel's crayola!.

HA! but it worked and it was fun and after a while of not making cards and struggling when I did a lightbulb went off and I made a card that I truly love

A side view:

A watercolour not bright rainbow slightly pastel butterfly!  It's hard to tell but it's not all green it is green and blue.... I asked my kids the color order for rainbows....you know to test them, they weren't too happy that I didn't do indigo (or purple apparently I only did one and neither could agree to which one)

After I started at my card for a bit with love, hey it's been a while I created a card I love I finished and made one of the cards for the class:

As you can see I was left with a bunch of white butterflies so I am sending along for them to finish at home the plain white butterfly (to color any way they choose) a white card and a die cut word!

Well that's it for me today!  I did create another card for the class and than another card for me (yay) so I hope to be back later this week with more to share!  Thank you for stopping by!  Remember a great way to keep up with me is through my facebook account here!
