<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: medium;">Today I am using the Grateful Leaves Stamp and Die Combo! I love this set! I was inspired to make some home decor instead of cards actually and thought to myself I may as well! I think stamps make fabulous cards but being able to make other stuff like home decor is a great idea! I am starting with what else but a wreath!!

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: medium;">I stamped with Hero Arts shadow inks: butter ball, red royal, cup o'joe, and just rite the leaves and die cut them. <span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: medium;">And I made another home decor project perfect for fall:

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: medium;">I made a fall garland by gluing more leaves on some twine! (I used hot glue it works the best) Looking around my house I decided the best place to put this twine was on this mirror. I realize I should hang the fall wreath than the garland but this paper wreath is here to stay on this mirror (after falling and breaking several times I've finally adhered it right to the mirror and it won't be moving! LOL)
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">My first card is quite me. While I still paper craft and teach paper crafting classes my days are mostly spent making wreaths. I have an etsy shop Anita Rex Designs where I sell my handmade burlap and yarn wreaths. When I sat down to create for this hop using the new set by Hero Arts Stamp and Cut flowers I had one idea but than I put the flowers down like a wreath. Seemed so fitting isn't it?
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">First I started this card by stamping the Hero Arts Waves background in wet cement, all inks on this card is HA: Pale Tomato, Fresh Peach, Mint Julep, Navy and Tide Pool. I embossed the sentiment in Hero Arts gold embossing powder (hero Arts embossing powders are my favorite) The banner and flower die really made this card come together much faster!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">My second card for today also uses the Stamp and Cut Flowers along with the fantastic sentiment stamp Absolutely Awesome!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I stamped the flowers and leaves and twigs in Hero Arts ink Bubble Gum, Orange Soda. And Memento's Toffee Crunch, Leaf Green and Rose Pink. I embossed in Hero Arts White the sentiment! A fun card! I enjoy stamping backgrounds!
I am excited to share that my etsy shop Anita Rex Designs has hit 300 sales! Whooo hoo! I love making the wreaths and am so blessed with the success! I have a lot of work to do! The kids have a playdate and Chad is out on appointments so I thought I would take a break of making wreaths and before I make lunch to blog a card! I used the set Thanks Bunches by Avery Elle that I was lucky to get as a pub incentive! I got it a bit ago and finally inked it up making another Mother's Day card:
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I used Hero Arts Pale Tomato, and Memento's Pear Tart. Pretty straight forward what I did on this one layer card, added some sequins (yay the orange avery elle ones matched!) I used a Hero Arts sentiment!

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The weather is finally nice enough for the kids to play outside. It started to get warm than it got freezing cold, than a bit warm, than rain and snow and now we are hopeful! The kids are having a blast playing outside with the neighbor girl and I can get so much done! We've already gone to the park a few times! Once it was so cold and windy but if it's nice we go because tomorrow may not be nice! :>

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">That's it from me! I will be back still have more to share (yay!) Thank you so much for stopping by!
Thought I would pop by with another Mother's Day card to share! Yes a second card share from me in a week! My card class has brought back the love of paper crafting for me! I think the break did me good, with being so busy with wreaths if I take a break from creating wreaths to make a card I know exactly what I want to make and I create so much faster! While I did take a break from paper crafting, I didn't take a break from shopping I have a lot of unopened stuff today I am sharing a card this stamp set by Clearly Besotted Elegant Butterflies. This is my first set by them, I like it, it's a bigger set for not that much extra. While you all know how much I love flowers, my first love is butterflies. I find stamping backgrounds with stamps to be relaxing, to save time I "assigned" each butterfly a clear block and a color so no cleaning and messing up colors:
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I used Hero Arts inks: Mint, Pale Tomato, Peach, and wet cement. I added the Mom die cut by Simon Says Stamp (doubled the cardstock than die cut kinda hard to get this intricate die cut out, maybe I wish it was thicker font) and anchored it with a velum strip. A pretty simple card but pretty.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Well it's a rainy gloomy day here! Chad drove Ariel to school this morning and than realized that she forgot her backpack! So he came back and is driving it to her, did I mention it's a 20 minute drive one way? :< I am off to work on some wreaths! My shop is even busier this week! :>
Yes me the girl who used to make tons of cards and than disappeared. Anyone out there? If anyone still cares...I have been buried under felt, burlap and wreath forms creating wreaths like crazy! My etsy shop Anita Rex Designs has been doing so well! I still am so many orders to create March saw my best month yet (Yes March I know who would have thought March? My Egg Wreath was a HUGE hit!) But I am currently teaching an intro to Card Making class at Creative Retirement Manitoba! Last week was my first class of 4 this week's focus is die cutting! While I was creating cards for the class I took the white fancy butterfly die by Hero Arts and derailed from preparing for the class and started watercolouring for fun the butterfly with the only watercolours I have, Ariel's crayola!.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">A watercolour not bright rainbow slightly pastel butterfly! It's hard to tell but it's not all green it is green and blue.... I asked my kids the color order for rainbows....you know to test them, they weren't too happy that I didn't do indigo (or purple apparently I only did one and neither could agree to which one)

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">After I started at my card for a bit with love, hey it's been a while I created a card I love I finished and made one of the cards for the class:

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">As you can see I was left with a bunch of white butterflies so I am sending along for them to finish at home the plain white butterfly (to color any way they choose) a white card and a die cut word!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Well that's it for me today! Happy Valentines Day to you! Hope you have been enjoying your day and that's it's been full of love! Both kids had school today so Chad and I had a day date (yay no need for babysitters) I thought I would pop in and share a winner from my previous posts and all our Valentine preparations!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The kids and I together made these tags, mostly me but they did do a lot (in total almost 50!)
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I used Taylored Expressions My Punny Valentine stamp set, it's the perfect set for treats! Stapled them to a bag of Goldfish crackers! I also used old Valentine papers, even though I have some from current lines I can't seem to use it when I use a big supply for my kids classmates. Not sure why but it is what it is! I had a lot of older Valentine paper!

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I made this tag for the squeezable applesauce and these homemade Valentines to put in my kids lunches at school! Ariel told me when I picked her up how funny she thought it was!

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">For the kids classes I made chocolate covered marshallow pops, easy when you have to make 50!

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">And lastly I made Ariel this wool felt heart hair clip to wear to school, I left it on the table for her to find at breakfast! Since it was the last thing I made at past 11 I glued the hair pin on backwards so she had to wear it differetly! Opps lol!

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">For this card I also used the Hero Arts set New Ideas. I stamped the numbered note pad with Hero Arts Tide Pool ink and adhered it on an angle. I stamped the bears with black staz on and using inks and water and a small paint brush I painted them. I used some patterned paper by My Minds Eye's Cupids Arrow #14. I thought that the hearts were fitting as you can see the love between the bears! I can't wait to slide this card into one of my sweet kids lunch! I finished the card with enamel dots as I love them!
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
I love felt since I work with it for my wreaths and I decided to stamp the
elephants on some wool grey felt! Don't the elephants look so cute? I
stamped them twice once on white felt and fussy cut the husk and
nails! It was easy I used staz on black ink and just held the stamp there longer so the ink could "seep" into the material and slowly pulled it away. I added googly eyes as it made them so much cuter! For this
card I also used the Hero Arts background stamp Tiny Flag Background. I stamped it with Hero Arts Mint Julep. Added a strip of patterned paper by My Minds eye and some enamel dots!

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Well that's it for me! I hope I've left you inspired and wanting to also get some new Hero Arts stamps! :> The next stop along the hop is the wonderful Nancy!

It's been a bit too long since I last posted and I truly apologize! I hope you had an amazing Christmas! We sure did! We had a great time with our families and were so blessed! I have been so busy with wreaths! My etsy shop has had amazing sales all fall and into the Holiday season! I also did an amazing craft sale and did amazing at the end of November! I love being creative and that my wreaths are selling! I have some great ideas for Valentines Day and some other new ideas too! My plan so I can do more sales next fall is to make flowers all year long in preparation!But I am looking forward to being able to paper craft! It's been so long since I've last posted that I do have quite a bit to post. And while Christmas is passed oh well I still feel like sharing it, I will just do it in a large mammoth post!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I wanted to share a card I had published in the November/December 2013 issue of Paper Crafts magazine! I was lucky enough to have a card and treat published in this issue! I love this card and when I made it I really thought it would get picked up, it fit three categories in the magazine, sequins, shaped card, and stamps and die combo!

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"> For the last day of school for Ariel's class I made chocolate covered pretzel sticks. I made half with chocolate and skor bits (like heath crunch) did you know that Skor bits have Almonds as a second ingredient, me either! So I had to make a second batch since no nuts at school! I also made up a bunch to give to teachers. And to hand out to the school office workers. The night before I decided to make tags for them using some Hero Arts stamps and tag die (nothing like the last minute oh well) I loved every minute! Even though I haven't paper crafted much this fall that night showed me how much I still find joy in it!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I also made a few tags for gifts. Okay I made all the tags for gifts but I forgot to take pictures of all of them. Whoops!

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">When making tags last minute while wrapping gifts (so it matches the paper! not because you procrastinated) using images that you stamped before is a quick way to get it done!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Here's a gift bag I made to hold a white elephant gift!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">And I shall leave you with our Holiday card this year! I made it myself using pic monkey! I made the collage with fall photos we had done, had them printed 5 by 7 at Costco and than trimmed the sides so it was a 5 by 5 card. Much cheaper and more personal and it didn't take me long at all!
The comments you have left on my blog always made my day brighter. I have been blessed to have won your challenges twice (I think twice) and been mentioned a few times on your blog and I can tell you that I may have been jumping up and down! I always enjoyed stopping by your blog and seeing what eye candy you had in store, it always inspired me not only in paper crafting but with my wreaths too! I truly think that with you leaving we are all at a loss, I understand and only wish you the best. Thankful for social media and being able to stay in the loop with you! Can't wait to see what is in store for you! I have a friend card to share as I consider Cath as many of you do too to be a friend.
You should have arrived here from the Fresh Squeezed Stamp Blog! If not please start at Vera's blog for all the fun! The Caring Hearts Card Drive collects cards for the elderly who are in nursing homes, a lot of elderly people don't always have visitors and the holiday time can be really hard for them. Sending a card really does brighten there day to see that a stranger cares enough about them to make a card write a message and send it to them. I am personally collecting cards on behalf of Canadians and have a large nursing home to give cards to! So if your in Canada and love to make cards please send them! If your in the US send it to Vera!

I have 4 cards to share with you. I stamped a whole bunch of Poinsetta's from WPlus9 Design Pretty Poinsetta and die cut them. Often when I make Holiday cards I make more than 1 of a design which was my plan with these cards but than I changed my mind. I already adhered down the main panel so I was stuck with that as my base (I considered trying to pull it off that never works) So I played around with the same elements and stamps and did four designs:

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">I am so excited for you Erin and your baby boy! I have a girl first like you and than a boy and it really is great to have one of each. It's so different but fun! And guess what boy diapers are so much easier to change, yes seriously! :> Too bad I don't live closer, I love babies and would love to snuggle!
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">I had fun using a certain stamp in this set for Erin's card, I thought she would buy a onsie like this:
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">I apologize for the quality of this photo, me and my camera are not getting along right now so I took the photo with my ipad mini! <span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">
It's November ALREADY! How did that happen? While for many of you November is fall for us it means soon it will snow! It's been beautiful fall days lately but it's just a certain amount of time till it's here, SNOW! Oh no! November means Christmas is on its way with Christmas cards, wreaths and projects being on my mind!
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">I thought I would pop in since it's been a bit and share a project. It's a Holiday gift bag! It's actually a reusable bag from my favorite tea company, David's Tea! Hope your having a great week! The end of October is here already! I've been kept busy with making wreaths for etsy sales and an upcoming artisan sale this Saturday! I am excited and also nervous since it will be my first sale with my wreaths! I am also bringing headbands and pacifier clips! So I am busy creating!
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">I wanted to stop by and share a card but also some exciting news! I am Cards Designer of the Month for November! I've known and did share back in January but it's finally here! I can't share any of the cards yet but I would be thrilled if you did check it out, you can purchase the issue<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;"> here<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;"> on there website. I have an ipad mini so it's easy to look at it! Here is a little snap from the article:
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">I can't share any of the cards from the issue but I can share a card I created a bit back using one of my favorite Mama Elephant Stamps along with some Hero Arts:
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">I started off by stamping the Looped Flower Background by Hero Arts with wet cement by HA. Than I stamped the Mama Elephant Lovely Mum flowers in orange soda and bubble gum pink by HA. I heat embossed the sentiment from Mama Elephant's Smitten set onto grey cardstock and finished this card off with sequins by Avery Elle!
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">
First off Happy World Card Making Day! Hope you have a chance to spend time making cards! I plan to today, in fact I plan only to make cards! (Ok well be a mom and so on but no other crafty stuff just me and the cards!)

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I am so excited to be here and share that I am part of the 2013 Caring Hearts Card Drive that my friend Vera along with Jennifer are hosting! Holiday time is approaching and we are back for
the 4th year for our annual Caring Hearts Card Drive to collect
holiday cards for the elderly that lives in nursing homes! We want to bring holiday cheer to as many homes as possible!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I am collecting cards for all of us Canadians! International shipping can be expensive and I love being able to share cards with the elderly in nursing homes here in Canada! I hope all my fellow Canadian crafty friends and more send cards in! I have a large nursing home lined up who are very excited! So please blog and share on social media so us Canadians can get involved!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The holidays are about family, about
kindness, and joy. During this time many of the elderly who lives in nursing
homes would really feel the loneliness or missing their family. Wouldn't
it be so awesome if we can bring a smile to their face & brighten
their holiday season simply by sharing our love of card making? A simple
gesture to let them know that they are not forgotten.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
We all love making cards and what’s better than knowing our creations can
bring a smile to others? I hope that many of you will help out in the effort to
spread joy & cheer.

We have some people that already agree to help us deliver the cards to selected
nursing homes.
I am back! It's been a bit since I've last blogged and I apologize. It's been quite busy over here! And I am not complaining as I was very busy making wreaths, what a great month for my etsy shop! So I have been creative every single day making wreaths! I did want to stop today and share a card! I made it a bit ago with the feather dies by My Favorite Things!

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Did you know that these shades of blue are my favorite? I don't often make cards in them but they are my favorite. I think it's easy to follow trends and all that but at the last Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking call I only submitted 3 cards, 2 in the paper flower category and I made a card that was so me, my favorite colors, my favorite things on the card not thinking of trends and all that, and it got picked up! Yay for May I know when you see it you will know right away that it's my card!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">With this card I dipped the edges of the feathers into versamark and heat embossed it gold, my talented friend Donna was the first to do that with the feather dies. It's fun to do, you know how much I love embossing! I die cut the hello by My Favorite Things with heavy gold paper. I really liked how the paper was heavy, I think paper companies should make heavy paper for die cutting, yes you can cut and glue and layer paper but I am not that patient, nor good at not getting glue everywhere! I realized that after making this card I didn't do any stamping on it! Oh the horrors!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Hello Friends! Happy September already! And just like that the summer is over and school starts in two days! Boo for the end of summer although thankfully the weather is still warm! This past weekend was Labour Day weekend meaning it was a long weekend! Chad went to Regina for his annual guys trip to watch there football team play there (he had a great time) and the kids and I went to his family cabin with a bunch of the nieces and nephews and family! The nearby town had a festival so we enjoyed fireworks, a parade, and some kids activities! We really had a great weekend!

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
Today I have a card to share that features feathers again! But it's different feathers! I've actually had this die for a while and I made this card a bit ago and than didn't post it, and than didn't make anything else with this die...shame on me!

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
I used a different color scheme for me, I think I could use it as a masculine card. This morning I thought the card was missing something so I added the enamel dots! I used My Favorite Things Feathers and Arrow die, along with Hero Arts tweed background and WPlus9 Designs sentiment!

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Happy Wednesday! Just over a week of summer left here and we are not looking forward to school starting up again! It's HOT HOT HOT here and we have been enjoying every minute of it! Lots and lots of swimming fun! In fact thought I would stop by and blog before we go to the pool with my sister in law! Got to enjoy each moment of summer while we can!
<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Today I have a card to share using a new stamp set by WPlus9 Design Studio Fanicful Feathers! It's actually not my set it's my crafty friend Leighs! A few Saturdays ago Leigh invited me to a local crop and I went for a few hours with her! It was so much fun to get to know her better and craft with her! She is so talented and a great person, I am lucky to live close to her! Here is the card I created:

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: center;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
I stamped the feathers in Fresh Peach, Mint and Wet Cement Hero Arts inks! I die cut the Hello by My Favorite Things but first inked up the piece of cardstock with the fresh peach ink (at Leigh's suggestion!) Had to add some enamel dots as I love them!

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
I am entering this card into this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge of Anything Goes!

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
And here is a photo of the two of us:

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: center;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Last week Carter turned 5! Yes 5! When I started this blog it was just before his 1st Birthday! The time really has gone so quickly! He has grown up but is still my little boy! Next week he starts kindergarten, he will go two full days one week and 3 full days the next. I am glad to still have time with him! Carter is a busy, lovable, full of energy, makes friends with everyone, and life of the party boy! He is so much like me as a child but a boy! He loves chatting with everyone and is always introducing himself to people and he loves chatting with the neighbors! When he wants something he is relentless which can be a hard trait for us the parents but as he grows up I look forward to seeing how he works that! He loves his sister so much! Beware if you hurt someone Carter loves as he will protect them!

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
For his birthday we took 15 kids (plus my two) so 17 kids to see the new movie Planes! It was busy but fun and I think all the kids had so much fun! Here is some photos:

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

Happy Thursday! We are having a great week! Monday Ariel and I went to see the musical Mary Poppins which she loved! She asked me if she could be an actress one day! :> Than on Tuesday we spent the day at Tinkertown (amusement park) and by day i mean all 7 hours they were open! We love tinkertown! Yesterday it was finally hot enough to swim so we went with my sister in law to a friends pool and had fun with the cousins! Today we are off to my friends who also has a pool! Tomorrow is the beach...no crafting getting done over here I've been unable to get off the couch in the evenings..
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
Today I am here sharing a Holiday tag to play along with Moxie fab World's Holiday Cards and More The Gift Tag challenge! I enjoy making tags and wrapping up Christmas gifts with them! I played with my leaping deer memory box die (a favorite last Christmas) and came up with this:

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
The great part about this tag is that I got a photo of it, the bad part is that I lost it! Sigh I still have it as its in the house and Christmas is still months away...I will find it.... So that said I don't know the measurements of it, it's small but not tiny.... I used some patterned paper by Echo Park, there Very Merry Christmas line along with Hero Arts Happy Holiday stamp and some twinery twine!

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
In this issue (Holiday Cards and More 8) I also have two publications! I have a gift wrap and I also have this home decor item! I made both of them the last day of the call (what is it about the last day that I get so fired up with great ideas?) This candle came to me while cooking dinner it made so much sense to me, I made it, had to take a photo of it with no natural light (at the time it was getting dark early) and I was sure it would get picked. Not trying to be boastful sometimes you just get that feeling (anyone else feel like that?) I love it so much I think this year I will make it to give as gifts. Hmm this may even make great teacher gifts! Isn't that nice to figure out in August? Here is how it appears in the issue:

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; font-size: small;">Thank you for stopping by today! Hope you have a great rest of the week! I am off to Michaels on the way to my friends pool (wish me luck taking three kids there, Ariel's friend is coming, Michaels has a lot of crafty and not crafty stuff my kids love to ask for!)

Hello and a Happy Monday to you! A start of another week of summer for us! And after several weeks of cooler weather it's finally warming up, happy to have summer back! Which is good as we only have three and a half weeks of summer left! We shall be making the most of it! The kids and I just came back from a weekend at a bible camp with my parents, it was fun but I don't love cabin life, I like it...

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
Today I am playing along with CASual Fridays Challenge of buttons! I love buttons but find myself not using them very much. I was happy about the challenge as now I could use them! I used a new stamp set by Hero Arts new Stamp Your Story catalog, My Favorite, I had to get this set because I loved the feather! I am also using new inks the Mint Julep and Fresh Peach by hero Arts along with Wet Cement. These are my favorite colors this season! I've been buying clothes in them and even getting my pedicure done in mint!

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
I am also entering this card into Hero Arts challenge of Stamp Your Story Inspiration contest!

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
What am I inspired by? I am inspired by the colors that Vicki used in this layout and card here.

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
I stamped the feather from the set My Favorite over and over. I embossed in white the panel onto actually some pink Hero Arts layering paper that I thought was a close match, I also embossed in white the be yourself. I like that statement! It's one I've always held true, to be myself even from an early age! The buttons are papertrey ink, making memories and an other!

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; font-size: small;">Quite excited for tonight! Taking Ariel to her first musical! We are going to see Mary Poppins at Rainbow Stage! It's an outdoor theater but with a domed roof. I can't wait to see what she thinks! Hoping to be able to craft more this week and blog! See you soon!
Here we are at the end of July already! Only a month and a bit left of summer! It's really flying by! Sadly we have cool weather here! Today you need long pants and a hoody how cool it is! Last week was the same and looks like next week too, hoping for summer to come back!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Today I have a card to play along with the Muse Challenge! I am new to this challenge, when I saw that my friend Lynn was the Muse I was inspired by her card to play along!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I was inspired by the colors Lynn used (loved that she was inspired by a dress her niece designed!) I was inspired by how she stamped onto colored cardstock (not something I do often) so I did too! And instead of using a Polaroid like she did I switched it up and used a speech bubble!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I am also entering this card into this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge of Anything Goes!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I added a new wreath to my shop, it was a custom order and I liked it so much I added it to my shop! It's one of my first ones with an initial! I can add an initial to any wreath for $5! You can find it here.
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Last week we enjoyed a trip to Minneapolis! We had such a great time! We drove as it's just over 6 hours away, the kids did pretty good with the drive! We went to the Minnesota Children's Museum, The Komo Zoo, Spent the day at Valley Fair (and the soak city there) took the Mono Rail from MOA to Minneapolis downtown and did lots of shopping and trying new restaurants! The kids also really enjoyed swimming at the hotel pool each day too! What a great trip! :>
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I stamped the background with wet cement and than stamped the sentiments over top in the same ink. I used various sentiments from different Hero Arts sets, sentiments that are used a lot in texting. I am happy with how this card turned out, so fun!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Now for a recipe! I love baking and don't mind cooking! LOL In fact I often craft so I DON"T BAKE! I like to keep busy! Not only do I love to bake but I also love to eat my baking! So that's why I try not to bake! I struggled with what to share. While I love baking I can't think of what to share. So I thought I would share this recipe from here Banana Brownies! I've made them 3 times in the last month and a half! The brown butter frosting is to die for! I suggest youtubing how to make brown butter frosting so you can see it, it can be finicky but I think once you watch it no problem!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">1-1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">3 tbsp. milk

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Directions:

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">1. Heat oven to 375F. Grease and flour 15×10-inch jelly roll pan. For the bars, in a large bowl, beat together sugar, sour cream, butter, and eggs until creamy. Blend in bananas and vanilla extract. Add flour, baking soda, salt, and blend for 1 minute. Stir in walnuts.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">2. Spread batter evenly into pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">3. Meanwhile, for frosting, heat butter in a large saucepan over medium heat until boiling. Let the butter turn a delicate brown and remove from heat immediately.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">4. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract and milk.
Whisk together until smooth (it should be thicker than a glaze but
thinner than frosting). Using a spatula, spread the brown butter
frosting over the warm bars (the frosting will be easier to spread while
the bars are still warm).

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I don't bake it in a jelly roll pan as I don't have one! I bake it on my cookie sheet the same size and since it's 1 inch in height it's perfect! This makes a lot so it's great to make when your going to a bbq or a summer celebration! And trust me everyone loves it! Like my neighbors!

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

It's been a busy week! But a fun and busy week! We enjoyed each day! Today has been slightly exhausting but it's worth it, tomorrow we leave for a trip to Minneapolis! The kids are so excited as are Chad and me! Still a bit more to pack and get ready but I wanted to stop by and share a card! I know I am not the only one who loves gold embossing powder:
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Supplies:
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">A pretty simple design. I framed the pool paper with gold paper to make the gold embossing stand out! And yes I used cornstarch before I embossed!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">This week has been fabulous! On Tuesday the kids swam for almost 5 hours non stop in a friends pool! They all couldn't get enough I had to drag them out! What a great day it was! They were so wiped they went to bed so fast! Than on Wednesday we met up with a bunch of friends at a wading pool and park, the kids all had so much fun and I had a great time with a lot of my mom friends! What a great afternoon! Yesterday Chad and I had haircuts and than afterwards Ariel and I went on a Mommy Daughter date and got pedicures! It was Ariel's first time! I kept it a surprise till we were in front of the salon! She was so excited! What a great week! Looking forward to our week away! :>
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">That's it for me! Hope you have a fabulous weekend! Anita Rexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11564640380919533341noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8453493136055769390.post-75280018235867370582013-07-15T18:47:00.000-05:002013-07-15T18:47:24.711-05:00A Hello Card and More!<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Hello! Happy Monday! I hope it's sunny where you are like it is here! A very hot and gorgeous day today! We stayed home (boring) cleaned up and organized and took a rest day. Carter is still having some bad days (sore tummy and bringing up) so taking a rest day today. I got a lot done but I've moved on to paper crafting....it's clean enough! It's been so busy with summer and all sorts of things that I am finding that if I don't choose to paper craft and really say it's time for this I don't do it, and I miss it!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Today I have a card to share that has Burlap on it! I had to get burlap to make a wreath! And the first burlap I bought wasn't the right stuff and I was so happy to get a better burlap in April....I haven't made a wreath yet but hey I did use it for a card! I like how it looks on this card!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I recently got the Happy Hello die from My Favorite things and I love it! Glad I finally used it on a card! With the burlap it wasn't going to be the easiest to adhere so I put a strong liquid glue on the edge of the o and that basically is holding it on the card! I adhered the flowers and leaves together and than adhered it to the burlap with foam adhesive, seems to be holding on!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">We have been very much enjoying summer! Hitting pools, wading pools, parks, strawberry picking and having fun with friends! This past weekend the kids spent two nights at the cabin with my inlaws and Chad enjoyed some time to ourselves! We had a date went out for dinner and than saw:
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">We loved it! We love the first one and this one was just as good, Shaquille O Neal really had quite a few laughs from us, I hope he does more comedy! On Saturday we did a bit of shopping (dragged Chad to two craft stores!) Had a great long nap than we went out with some friends of ours to watch the football game and after that we went to see:
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Yes it was good, would I want to see it again nope, I hate fighting movies! And over the weekend I read:
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Yes it's a follow up to the popular Devil Wears Prada and it's really good. While I had no idea what to expect from the book I really enjoyed it! A great story!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

I hope that you have had a great start to July! We did, we went swimming at a friends pool, last weekend was a long weekend and we went to the cabin! Than both kids were struck with a sore tummy virus Ariel late last week and Carter this past week, he had it the worst and spent four days on the couch, which is most unlike him! After the worst night with him (lots of crying and loud! Telling us his tummy wants to be alone!)He woke up feeling so much better!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">It's no secret that heat embossing is my favorite! I love it! I had a card idea in my head and it involved heat embossing onto dark cardstock but my embossing buddy was being no buddy of mine! What's a girl to do? Why not try cornstarch? So I brushed it onto the card and stamped and heat embossed and it look it turned out fabulous! The embossing buddy is getting lower on the priority list! See it works:
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">White Embossing Powder by Hero Arts (the best white)
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">cornstarch
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">My next card is one that a friend asked for, she wanted a card for her daughter's teacher, a teacher appreciation and baby card! I may have been stumped! Teacher appreciation and a baby card and they don't know the gender? I was really pleased with myself and what I came up with!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I embraced the teacher appreciation with the sentiment, the alphabet background (white on kraft so it's subtle) and the notebook stamp and the small wooden clip! And I embraced the baby part with the giraffe and elephant! Sticking with a neutral color scheme worked well!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
